Festival Art Walk At First Presbyterian

The Lancaster Community and First Presbyterian Church will be celebrating the gifts that God has given to us during the Lancaster Festival Art Walk.  This event attracts more patrons each year, and will take place on July 18, 2008.  First Pres has featured music and art by artists from our own congregation.  We invite all of you to participate again this year.  If you have some things that you have not entered before, please bring them in to share with us; if not, there is plenty of time to get busy and create something new for this year’s show.  All work must be matted, framed, or otherwise appropriately prepared for display.  Entry forms will be available in the church office, and the deadline for entries will be May 25, 2008. The display will be open on Friday, July 18th, during the Festival Art Walk, and left in place during the following week, open to the public during church office hours.   There will also be refreshments and entertainment on Friday evening, and artists are invited to be there to greet guests and discuss their work. Please consider being part of this special time of celebrating and sharing of the special gifts with which God has blessed us.

RECYCLE REMINDER

The church continues its involvement in the Paper Retriever Program sponsored by Abitibi Recycling.  Each ton of paper we collect performs a valuable global and community service and also earns money to help fund our church office budget.  you can help the church and yourself at the same time by collecting your recyclable paper and bring it to the church.  A collection bin is conveniently located in the parking lot and is always available.  Remember to recycle your Sunday bulletin in the recycle box located in the Narthex.  We are increasing our recycling efforts to the point that a second bin has been added.  Please support this worthwhile cause.

We can take: newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogues, envelopes, folders, "post-it" notes, computer/FAX paper, and posters.

We cannot take: laminated paper, food containers, plastic of any kind, milk cartons, phone books, cardboard, metal or glass.

RECYCLE YOUR INKJET and LASER CARTRIDGES and CELL PHONES

Place inkjet cartridges in a sandwich bag and deposit them in our collection bins located in the Narthex and the church office.  Cell phones and laser cartridges may be dropped off at the office.  We will take all makes and styles of cartridges and phones.  We have several companies who will accept them.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
