SPECIAL EVENTS

                                                     Fight aging!

A great New Year’s Resolution for all of us is to exercise more. To assist you to that end, we have made arrangements with the Robert K. Fox Family Y to bring any willing Presbyterian member to their facility for one month at no charge. This will begin the week of January 23rd and run through February 21st. A formal one hour training session will be held each Tuesday and Thursday between 3:00-4:00pm and will be conducted by Pastor Matthew and Bob Heath in the fitness area and Gigi Elliott with the formal exercise programs. The pool and the indoor track are available as well. After you have an understanding of the proper use of the equipment this free pass will allow you to be a guest of the Family Y at any-time throughout this time span. Upon completion of this 30 day period and assuming you find the program beneficial to you, you can then register as a member (at current rates) or use any of the other fine facilities in the city including Olivedale which is free to seniors. The Family Y also offers many classes. If you are interested in participating in a class, please contact Gigi Elliott and she will help facilitate "try it" time for any class that can accommodate you.

                                                   Young-at-Heart

The Young-at-Heart group will be meeting at Tiki Lanes on Saturday, February 18th for an evening of bowling. Games are $2.50 per game including shoe rental. Food and beverage may be purchased on your own. Please RSVP to Jackie by February 15th to insure that enough lanes are reserved.

                                        Recycle

We invite you to help us participate in a great program that has a multitude of benefits.  Not only will you be performing a valuable global and community service, you will also be raising all-important funds for our church.

                                                     Paper

First Presbyterian is  participating in Paper Retriever Program sponsored by Abitibi Recycling.    Each ton of paper we collect earns money to help the church office budget.

You can help the church and yourself at the same time.  Collect your recycled paper and bring it to the church – there’s a bin in the parking lot behind the church.  You can drop your paper off at any time.  It’s always available.

We CAN take:

Newspapers  Post-It Notes

Magazines  Computer Paper

Catalogs  Fax Paper

Junk Mail  Folders

Envelopes  Posters

We CANNOT take:

 Laminated Paper  Metal
Food Containers  Glass
Milk Cartons  Phone Books
Plastic of any kind  Cardboard

Recycle inkjet, laser cartridges and cell phones

We are now collecting empty HP and DELL only inkjet and laser cartridges. Inkjet cartridges can be placed in a sandwich bag deposited in our collection bins located in the Narthex and the office.  Cell phones and laser cartridges can be dropped off at the office.  We will take all makes and styles of phones.

Together we can make a difference!
