Go and make disciples of all nations.

Where the Spirit leads us, we will follow. Our mission crosses the borders of our community, state, and country to extend Christ’s love on a global scale.

Presbytery of Scioto Valley

Mark Hare and Jenny Bent

What are we doing to faithfully prepare for Christ’s return, making space for Creator God’s new heaven and new earth? We’re drawing on UBL’s international contacts to support research about local and indigenous knowledge; we’re promoting recycling; we’re celebrating farmers and collaborating with the local government; we’re developing as a community of people who believe in good food, sharing knowledge and jokes with each other, and producing abundance.

Our mission is to see movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. Our mission is to win, build, and send, multiplying disciples in all nations of the world.

We focus on reaching leaders for Christ. The brand is called Leader Impact. The approach is different. We focus on personal, professional, and spiritual development with the goal to become a leader of impact (a multiplying disciple).

Nuru Ya Mapendo

Jane Wise, Missionary

The mission of Nuru Ya Mapendo, meaning “Love’s Light,” is to model Jesus by meeting physical needs in Kasenga, DRC, and ministering spiritually. Through sustainable agriculture and spiritual nourishment, we aim to improve lives while supporting pastors as they share the Good News, make disciples, and grow God’s Kingdom.

It is our mission to cultivate a grace-filled community where the Holy Spirit empowers all to discover and share God’s love locally and globally, as each person is loved, respected, and celebrated for who they are.

Samaritan’s Purse

First Presbyterian Church is an active benefactor of two global missions through Samaritan’s Purse—Operation Christmas Child and U.S Disaster Relief. Our congregation purchases and donates items for shoeboxes, packs them, and sends them off for their individual journeys to more than 170 countries. Mission teams have deployed several of our members across the states to relief bases where natural disasters have struck. Trips have included Lewisburg, WV, Baton Rouge, LA, Ft. Myers, FL, and Mayfield, KY, among many others.

Honduras

Since 1999, First Presbyterian Church has established deep roots in the village of Nuevo Paraiso, Honduras. Over two decades of service to our Honduran friends has produced countless relationships and a timeless reminder of God’s promise for His people. During the past 25 years, our mission teams have evolved, with many returning year after year and new faces joining the journey to witness the profound work that continues to unfold as the need grows. Through year-long donations, prayers, and planning, our church has contributed to several schools and educational initiatives, meeting sustainable community needs such as nutrition, clothing, and resources across the Honduran community.
